April 30: Run #12 - Keep it out of the gutter!

3 virgins joined us for run #12, which started near a busy Traverse City intersection.  Of course, the pack had little to worry about from traffic as hare Runaway Bride led them along the back edge of a shopping center then plummeting into the woods, along a ridge, then across  the road to the first beer check in a ditch next to the railway tracks.  The hare was glad to find the stash of PBR untouched as there was evidence that the hashers where not the first to use this particular gutter as a clandestine drinking spot.   The pack endured trail saboteurs who rubbed out some marks, as well as Just Katelyn's flour eating dog, yet still managed to find beer.  Trail then led back into the woods, through some swamps (the wankers crossed on a boardwalk), and into a field where more beer was stashed in some abandoned farm equipment.  Ceremonies were performed here with down downs given to absentee hasher Just Kim, sanctioned racers Fire, Runaway, and PF, virgins Just Katelyn, Just Mary, and Just Rahul among others.  On after continued at Brady's.

Run #11- April 13, 2008 Homo's Big Gay Hash

Sunday April 13- HomoLone laid trail through the Sabin Dam natural area, which, unbeknownst to him but "knownst" to the rest of the hash, is a popular local gay hangout.  Just another example of an aptly named hasher!

The first half of the hash leading up to beer check number 1 was dry , but full of shiggy leading through some overgrown game trails.  After driking a few Oberons by the river, we headed out into one of Traverse City's finer trailer parks and down a road before heading back into the preserve.  That's were things started to fall apart.  Having run out of flour, Homo had resorted to a bag of whole wheat flour to mark the sandy trail.  Needless to say, this was less than successful.  After spending 20 minutes trying to find trail, we finally were able to discern some subtle marking heading down the park service road.  This is were we spied the hare.  Although we were able to run him down, he claimed immunity as he was at the final beer check, but lamented that the pack had missed the "best part of the trail".  So we made him go back and lead us through it, as it was impossible to follow the marks.  The rest of the trail led along the river bank on poor footing with lots of shiggy to cling to for dear life.  Then, finishing across a swampy area.  Only PF and Fire crossed the deep mud, while Runaway, Hilton, and the Hare took the chicken way over some logs.  The were punished for this with down-downs.

Also in ceremonies, nearly the entire pack celebrated anniversaries.  Just Rick joined us for part of ceremonies and drank as a virgin and a late cummer.  And the hashit  cooler was awarded to the hare for gross misuse of whole wheat flour and copious back checks.  On after continued at Brady's Pub.

Run #9: 2/9/08 Brew and Shoe!
The Brew and Shoe Snowshoe Hash, held in Interlochen was C2H3's first dead hare event.  Hares Pedi-Filed and Runaway Bride laid a short A to B trail through the woods and trials around the Interlochen Arts Academy.  The beer stop was early on by the river.  At the on-in, ceremonies were conducted by HomoLone.  Down-downs were given to the hares, to the 2 virgins Just Don and Just Erica, to absentee hasher Hilton Head, and a birthday down-down to Pedi-Filed, among others.  We then headed back to the start (PF's house) where ceremonies were reopened and the piss-pot was brought out.  Here, Pedi-Filed and Hilton Head were named, and the Hashit was awarded to Runaway Bride for laying trail in such a piss-poor manner that a virgin nearly found the on-in prematurely.  On-after continued at the Karlin Inn.

Run #8: Homo in the City - Nov. 4
Four virgins joined us for this urban hash hared by Homo-Lone.  Trail started and ended at Brady's Bar in Traverse City, everyone's favorite hash-friendly bar from Run One.  The hare layed a looping trail, narrowly avoiding capture on at least one occasion.  He also just managed to avoid the ultimate down-down...a dry beer check!  Yes, our hare took off on trail, leaving his wallet, with all the hash-beer money, at the start.  Luckily he realized before reaching the beer-check at The Loading Dock, and was able to circle back before the pack caught up.  Once again, poor Homo was unable to find suitable reason to give up the hashit cooler.  Rumor has it that he stocks it with such fabulous beer that he is unwilling to part with it!

Run #7: "Walk, Don't Run!"
Another unseasonably warm day for an autumn hash!  Hares Fire-in-the Hole and Runaway Bride led the pack on a mixed urban/trail hash through Suttons Bay.  Due to the small pack size (4, including the 2 hares), illnesses, and the fact that Runaway and Homo were still feeling the effects of the Bay City H3 Halloween Hash and party the night before, it was decided to walk the hash, dead-hare style.   Trail led along the bay, then back through the village and up a hill to the first beer stop.  From there, we hit the woods for a nice hike, ending with a run down an abandoned ski hill.  Then a case of deja-vu, with the second beer check the same as the first.  There we left Just Anne to go to a family gathering, while the rest hit the bar.
